William D. Barnes, Jr., 35 years, of Whitman died August 2, 2010 at Tufts Medical Center, Boston. He was born and raised in Brockton and has lived in Whitman for the past three years. At the age of sixteen Bill was honored with the title of Eagle Scout. He was a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1993. Bill worked for a number of years for General Flooring of Weymouth before taking his current position as Second Shift Security Dispatcher for the Gillette Company in So. Boston three years ago. He will be remembered for his charismatic personality; one who enjoyed working on and owning vintage cars, was a fifties music enthusiast, but most of all a completely devoted partner and Dad.
He is survived by his loving partner and best friend Regis Klasson and their son William D. Barnes III of Whitman; his loving and devoted parents William D. Sr. and Georgeanne (Dodge) Barnes of Brockton and his sisters Tara Applebaum of Florida, Diana Rodriguez of Brockton, and extended family members, and friends.
At the request of Bill services and visiting hours have been omitted.
