Obituary

LEICESTER;

Philip R. Miller, Sr. 72 of 21 Pine Ridge Dr., passed away Sunday Nov. 16 at St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by loved ones after a long,courageous battle with Esophageal Cancer. He had been hospitalized since Aug. 27th. under the gentle care of many skilled and devoted Health Care Professionals.

He leaves his devoted wife and companion of 19 years, Winifred (Christie) Foley-Miller, two sons Mark P. Miller of Oxford and Philip R. Miller, Jr. of Worcester, three daughters Debra A. Hayes of No.Brookfield, Marcella J. Swanson of Barre and Karen N. Miller of Worcester, two stepsons Robert P. Facteau and Gregory S. Facteau both of Auburn, a stepdaughter Lori L. Facteau of Leicester, a brother Ronald W. Miller of Auburn, a sister Judith A. Schwartz of Worcester, 11 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a much loved friend and cousin Richard E. Miller of Worcester. His first wife Julia (Crawford) Miller passed away in 1983.

He was born and raised in Worcester, the son of Anna V. (Laukaitis) and Felix C. Miller. He graduated from Commerce High, Worcester Junior College and served in the U.S. AirForce for 6 years as a member of the Strategic Air Command and was a Medic in Air Rescue during the Korean War. He worked at St. Vincent Hospital for 24 years as second shift supervisor in the Hospital Police Dept. and received his training from the Mass. State Police. Prior to that position he worked at Wyman Gordon Co. in Worcester for many years.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. in the Morrison-Morin Funeral Home, 1131 Main St.,Leicester. Burial will follow with Military Honors in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 5 to 8p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Korean War Memorial of Central Mass. Inc, P.O.Box 16568, Worcester, Ma. 01601.
