Obituary

David H. Verrier 92, of Pine Swamp Rd. died Monday at home. He was the husband of Rita M. (Richardson) Verrier. Mr. Verrier was born in Canada, a son of the late Oliver and Odina (Pelletier) Verrier. He was a yarn rewinder for the Branch River Combing Co. for thirty one years and retired from the Bird Machine Co. in 1983 where he had worked for over fifteen years. Mr. Verrier was a Staff Sergeant in the Army during WWII. He received a diploma from France for his participation in the Battle of the Bulge. He is a life member of the Carpenter-Bacon Chapter of the DAV.

Besides his wife he is survived by a son David J. Verrier and his wife Sheila of Cumberland, a daughter Judith I. Gagne of Cumberland, two brothers Camille Verrier of FL and George Verrier of Smithfield, a sister Noella Hemond of Harrisville, two grandchildren Daniel and Nicole, several nieces and nephews, and many beloved friends. He was also the brother of the late Lucien, Florent, Robert and Jean Paul Verrier and Gabriel Robert.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday 5-8 PM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a service in the Funeral Home at 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to Home and Hospice Care of RI , 1085 North Main St. Providence, RI 02894 in his memory would be appreciated.
