John Oliveira, age 71, passed away peacefully at his home in Somerset, August 1, 2010. He was the beloved husband of 48 years to Linda (Cunha) Oliveira. And the son of the late Jesse and Evangelina (Arruda) Oliveira. Before retiring, John was a Credit Manager at the Fall River Gas Co. He was a U.S. Marine Reserves Veteran of the Viet Nam Era, a parishioner of St. John of God Church, and an avid sports fan.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son: John J. Oliveira and his wife Jill of Somerset and 2 loving granddaughters: Audrey and Amy
His funeral will take place from the M ANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 No. Main St. THURSDAY at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset. Calling hours WEDNESDAY 6-8 PM. At the family’s request, kindly omit flowers.
