M. Alice Martin, 94

…of Tewksbury, former Dunstable Resident…

TEWKSBURY: M. Alice (Murphy) Martin, age 94, died Monday evening, November 17th 2003.

She was the wife of the late Edward A. Martin.

Born in Boston on May 4, 1909, she was the daughter of the late David and Margaret (Cavanagh) Murphy.

Mrs. Martin was raised in Medford. She attended Medford schools and graduated from Medford High School.

She continued her education and later graduated from Burdette Business College.

Following graduation, she worked for the H.P. Hood Company in Somerville and Charlestown. Mrs. Martin later worked for the Town of Chelmsford in the school lunch program.

Prior to moving to Tewksbury in 1999, she resided for over 30 years in Dunstable.

Mrs. Martin was a member of the Dunstable Senior Citizens Club.

She enjoyed many activities including sewing, painting and raising and caring for animals.

She is survived by her children; David A. Martin and his wife Kathy (Frick) of Manassas, VA, Paul F. and his wife Carol (Stanion) of Tewksbury, Michael L. and his wife Barbara (White) of Dunstable, Mary Brew and her husband Richard of Brookline, NH; a daughter-in-law; Mary (McGovern) Martin of Pepperell; 18 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Martin was the mother of the late Margaret, Richard and Peter Martin, grandmother of the late Michael Martin and sister of the late Anna Sullivan and Helen Kiaunis.

Calling hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. at the FARMER & DEE FUNERAL HOME, 16 LEE ST., TEWKSBURY. Funeral Friday at 9 a.m. from the funeral home. Funeral Mass Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Williams Church 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Cremation at Linwood Crematory, Haverhill. OMIT FLOWERS. Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or to the American Heart Assoc., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 would be appreciated
