John Luke Fernandez, 16, of Worcester, died Thursday, July 29, 2010 in UMass Memorial Hospital.
He leaves his father, John Fernandez of Webster; his mother, Mayra Toro-Baez of Worcester; his brother, Gabriel Fernandez of Worcester; his sister, Jasmine Fernandez of Worcester; his maternal grandparents, Moises and Edith Baez Echevarria of Worcester; his paternal grandmother, Maria Fernandez of Webster, formerly of New Bedford; and the PSA Home Care Nurses, especially his longtime caregivers, Maria and Carmen. His sister, Alexandria Fernandez, predeceased him.
John was born in Worcester and was a graduate of Sullivan Middle School. He was a member of the Evangelical Church of Worcester. John enjoyed music and was a New York Yankees fan.
The funeral is Monday, August 2nd, with a service at 10:00 AM in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, August 1st, from 3:00 until 6:00 PM in the funeral home.
