Rose L. (Roy) Prendergast, 86, died July 30, 2010 at Radius Health Care Center. She was the wife of Gregory Prendergast with whom she shared 65 years of marriage.
Born in Lawrence on Sept. 6, 1923, she was the daughter of the late William Roy and Rose (Smith) (Roy) Begin. Rose was raised in educated in Danvers and graduated from Holten High School. Upon graduation she attended the Beverly Hospital School of Nursing and was employed at various hospitals as a Registered Nurse.
Besides her husband Gregory, she is survived by a son Mark Prendergast of Maine and a daughter, Jane Prendergast of Minnesota and a brother Brian Begin of Arizona. She was predeceased by a sister Beatrice Downey.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tues. at 9:00AM in St. Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. There are no visiting hours. Arrangements are made by C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Rose’s name to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA, 01923.
