Obituary

LEICESTER-Ronald F. “Trigger” Travers, 47, of Cherry Valley, died Thursday, July 29th in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester. He leaves his wife of 27 years, Karen L. (Marley) Travers; two sons, Matthew F. Travers and Andrew J. Travers, both of Cherry Valley; a daughter, Aimee L. Travers of Spencer; his father, Valmore L. Travers, Jr. and his wife Evelyn of North Ft. Myers, FL; two brothers, Richard L. Travers of Rutland and Robert F. Travers of Worcester; a sister, Patricia A. Gage and her husband James of Conway, SC; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Francis and Veda (Hutchings) Marley of Cherry Valley, with whom he shared a home for many years; a nephew and a niece.

He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Jean E. (Lindquist) Travers and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. A third generation plumber, Trigger worked for the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union, Local 4 for many years. He was a member of the Spencer Snowbirds and had been an Assistant Scoutmaster in Leicester. Ronald enjoyed camping and was an avid motorcyclist and especially enjoyed his four-legged pals, Louie and Libby.

The Memorial Mass for Ronald will be held Tuesday, August 3rd at 10:00 A.M. in St. Joseph’s Church, 759 Main Street, Cherry Valley. Calling hours are from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday, August 2nd in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Molly Bish Foundation, P.O.
