Joseph V. Fonseca Jr., age 66, of Fall River, passed away July 29, 2010 unexpectedly at home. He was the beloved husband of Judy (Ricardo) Fonseca. Born in Bretanha, Sao Miguel, Azores, the son of the late Jose V. & Belmira (Barreira) Fonseca. He was a member of the Associacáo Academica of Fall River, Banda Nossa Senhora Da Luz, and St. Anthony’s Band Club. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Prior to retiring, he was the Owner & Operator of Fonseca Home Improvements.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children: Michael (Patricia) Fonseca and Kerrianne (Jay) Silva both of Fall River. 3 grandchildren: Cassidy, Sierra, & Alexia. 5 siblings: Maria Oliveira, George (Eduarda) Fonseca, Margaret (Joe) Borges, Olga (Walter) Albernaz, & Odelia (Manuel) Farias all of Fall River, Belmira (Jesse) Aguiar of Dighton. Sister-in-law Linda (Hipolito) Fonseca. He was the brother of the late John and Antonio Fonseca.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. TUESDAY at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours MONDAY 5-8 P.M.
