Paul Stevens Purdy, age 96, of Mystic passed away on July 28, 2010.
He is survived by Ellen, his wife of 67 years, sons, Steven and Derek, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two sons, Lance and Kevin.
Paul lived his childhood in Massachusetts and his early adult years in Laconia, N.H. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a radar specialist aboard the destroyer escort USS Carroll, DE-171, in the North Atlantic, Mediterranean, and Pacific areas of operation. Following his military service, he managed movie theaters in several Connecticut cities and then completed a long career with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft while residing in Meriden.
At Paul's request, his ashes will be scattered at sea at the convenience of his family with no other memorial service.
