Oteri, Rose M. (Siriani), age 96, of Watertown passed away Sunday, July 25 at her daughter's home in S. Portland, ME with her family by her side. She was born in Cambridge, MA on January 7, 1914. The daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Christiana) Siriani. She attended Cambridge schools before graduating from Saint Patrick's High School in Watertown in 1932. After high school she married Anthony Oteri in an arranged marriage that turned into a true love story. She lived in Watertown for 76 years before moving to S. Portland, ME to be with her daughter. She was a devoted wife and mother to her 9 children. Her family and her friends were her life. She especially enjoyed a trip to Italy for her 50th wedding anniversary but she was just as content being in her home surrounded by family and friends. Rose was predeceased by her husband, Anthony, of 54 years, and two daughters; Grace Guggina of Watertown and Irene LaRocque of Belmont. She is survived by her children; John Oteri of Lakeville, Tony Oteri and his wife Marcia of Lancaster, Rosemary Whittaker and her husband Dwight of S. Portland, ME., Richard Oteri and his wife Polly of Wells, ME., Robert Oteri and his wife Marianne of Sudbury, Jean Hearn and her husband Michael of Dover, N.H.,Edward Oteri and his wife Jennifer of Watertown and her son-in-law Joseph Guggina of Watertown (husband of Grace). She also leaves behind 35 grand children, 40 great grand children, and 7 great great grand children. Private funeral services were held at Sacred Heart Parish in Watertown on Thursday July 29 with the burial following at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
