Obituary

Michael D. Annese, 83, of Danvers, died unexpectedly on Thursday morning, July 28, 2010. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth (Mastrangelo) Annese, with whom he shared sixty years of marriage.
Born in Revere on April 24, 1927, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Marotta) Annese. He was raised and educated in Revere and was a graduate of Revere High School. Mr. Annese then served honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was employed at General Electric, where he retired as a manager after 44 years.
An avid golfer and hunter, he was a member of the Italian Community Center in Beverly, Vittori-Rocci Post 56, the VFW, and the American Legion.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a loving daughter, Maureen Annese-Picard of Danvers, two grandsons, Michael Daniel Picard of Danvers and Brant Picard of Ayer, and a great-granddaughter, Carolin. He was the brother of the late John Annese.
A committal service will be held on Monday, August 2, 2010 at 11AM in the Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum, Everett. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Sunday from 3-6PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
