Obituary

Mrs. Jennie L. Capodanno, of Arlington died peacefully in her sleep Monday in the Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester. She had celebrated her 102 birthday in January. She was the loving wife of the late Frank Capodanno. Mrs. Capodanno was born and educated in Boston, daughter of the late Saverio and Maria Grace (Lepore) Aufiero. She lived in Boston’s North End until she and Frank were married in 1927. They moved to Medford where they stayed until about 1960. She has been an Arlington resident for over 50 years. In earlier years she worked as a sales clerk selling ladies garments in a department store. She later became a buyer for the former J.M. Fields Department Stores until her retirement in 1972. A quiet and demure woman, she enjoyed entertaining at home and cherished visits from 3 generations of countless nieces and nephews. She is survived by a brother Joseph Aufiero of Medford. She is the sister of the late Anna Capodanno, Gloria Richard, Helen, Albert and Chickie Aufiero. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main Street MEDFORD on Thursday at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral Mass in St. Eulalia’s Church, 50 Ridge Street, Winchester at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours prior to funeral on Thursday from 8:00-9:30 am. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Those who prefer may make contributions in Jennie’s name to the Lahey Clinic 50 Mall Road
