Mario Faria, Sr., 72, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at the Good Samaritan Medical Center on Saturday, July 24. He was the husband of the late Paulette (Atwood) Faria and Vontella (Johnson) Faria. Born and educated in the Azores, Portugal, he moved to Stoughton in 1960. Mr. Faria was a custodian for Stoughton Public Schools for many years before retiring 9 years ago. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, working on boats and cars and spending time with his family.
Mr. Faria is survived by his children, Mario Faria, Jr. of West Bridgewater, Nancy Kershaw and her husband Michael of FL and Janet Faria and her fiancé Robert McNeil of Stoughton. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Courtney and Paul Kershaw and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday, July 30 from 4-8 PM. Funeral Service will be private.
