Obituary

Charles Wesley Taylor, 72, of Tifton died Monday, July 26, 2010, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2010, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Mike Gibbs will officiate with burial to follow in Lakeview Baptist Church Cemetery in Cook County. Carl Taylor, Elmo Spells, Wendell Spells, Jerry Gaskins, Tommy Clements and Phil Eason will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Taylor was born on August 6, 1937 in Berrien County and was the son of John Byne Taylor and Mildred Rogers Taylor, both deceased. He was a retired insurance agent and of the Baptist faith. He served for two years in the United States Army and had lived in Tift County for the last 27 years.

Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Nina Faye Taylor of Tifton; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Carlton Wesley Taylor of Nashville, Jerry and Dianna Gaskins of Atlanta, Victor Gaskins of Tifton, and Ken and Tonya Gaskins of Enigma; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Lynn and Charlie Gray of Alapaha, Charlene and Wayne Heath of Alapaha, Brenda and Tommy Clements of Valdosta, Sherry Hilton of Albany, and Susan and Phil of Eason of Ty Ty; one brother and sister-in-law, Elton and Grace Taylor of Perry; 23 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
