Mr. Arthur R. “Buster” Jodrie Jr., 85, formerly of Milan Hill Rd., Milan, NH passed away on Sunday morning July 18, 2010 at the Coos County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown, NH, where he has resided many years. He was born in West Milan, NH on Feb. 3, 1925 the son of Arthur R. Jodrie Sr. and Carma A. (Clook) Jodrie and had lived in the Milan area all of his life, prior to entering the nursing hospital. He was employed by the State of New Hampshire Highway Dept. for over 30 years and by the New Hampshire State Parks & Recreation for eleven years at the Milan Hill State Park as manager. He served as Chief of Police in the town of Milan for over 30 years and had served as a Police Chief in the town of Errol and had also been an Oxford County Deputy Sheriff. He was a US Army Veteran, serving in Japan from 1946 thru 1948. He was Milan Babe Ruth League Coach, the Scoutmaster of the Milan Troop 223, was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and was the catcher and manager for the Town of Milan Clippers Baseball Team. Buster made the snowmobile trails all over Milan Hill and people would call him to see if the trails were open and if it was OK to ride in certain places. He was a douser and people would call him to go out to their property to find water.
Members of the family include two sisters Olivia Enman and her husband Don and Janet Woodward and her husband David, all of Milan; a brother Robert Jodrie and his wife Marjorie of Gorham, NH and Wildwood, FL; four nephews and six nieces, seven great-nephews, eight great-nieces and many cousins.
There will be no services. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Milan. Arrangements are by the Bryant Funeral Home, Berlin, NH.
