Obituary

Kenneth J. Ahern, of Medford, died Sunday morning at the Courtyard Nursing Care Center, after a long illness. He was 71.

Ken was raised in Medford, the son of the late Philip and the late Eileen (O'Neil) Ahern. Ken worked for many years at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital before his retirement. A great music enthusiast, Ken loved to play the piano and organ. He enjoyed playing for family and friends and would often entertain patients at the hospital at special events. Ken was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

The beloved husband of Sarah (Carcia) Ahern, he was a dear brother to the late Phyllis Ahern and Robert Ahern. He was a devoted uncle to Kathy, Karen and Anthony and is also survived by 5 great nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday, July 28th at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-7. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Ken's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
