Walter A. Arsenault, 79, died at his home on July 24, 2010. Walter was the son of the late John and Mary Arsenault of Reading. A long-time resident of Reading and a fixture in the community, Walter and his family owned and operated Harrow’s Restaurant since 1956. Walter owned other area businesses, and was an owner and long-time aficionado in the field of horse racing. He will be remembered as a loving husband, brother, uncle, dedicated father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley (Lord) Arsenault; sons Walter and wife Susan, David, Daniel and wife Dianne and Robert and wife Tracey; daughters Cindy Conchiglia and husband Michael, Diane Peoples and Joanne Fiore and husband Steven; brothers James and David Arsenault, sisters Jean Donovan, Anna Colannino and Agnes McDonald; 9 granddaughters, 8 grandsons, 2 great-granddaughters and 1 great-grandson. He was predeceased by brothers Leo, Lawrence, infant baby James, and sisters Rose Houle and Rita Arsenault.
A Funeral Service celebrating Walter’s life will be held on Wednesday at 11am in the Chapel of the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Tuesday from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants will be available. Interment Wood End Cemetery, Reading.
