Betty R. Wagoner, 83, of Peoria, formerly of Morton passed away at 10:35pm Friday July 23, 2010 at Lutheran Hillside Village.
Betty was born in DesMoines, Iowa to Coyle and Ruth (Lange) Riley. She married Dale E. Wagoner on October 18, 1953 in Des Moines. Dale survives her. She also is survived by one daughter, Shelley (Steve) Weaver of Peoria; and son, Scott (Sarah) Wagoner of Ft. Wayne,IN.; six grandchildren, Zack (Carolyn) Weaver , Ashley Weaver, Luke, Weaver, Olivia Wagoner, Owen Wagoner, and Colson Wagoner; and two nieces, and a nephew. Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Jones of Minnesota.
Betty attended Stephens College in Missouri. She lovingly raised her family and later worked in real estate for Schrock Realty in Morton. Betty and Dale made their home in Morton for over fifty years. They attended Grace Evangelical Church. They have cherished lifelong friendships sharing countless memories of life and travel. Betty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was such a blessing and support for all her family. We are thankful for God’s abiding grace in her life. She will always be remembered for her zest for life, a sense of humor, and her love of family. It is with confidence that we trust she is now home with her Savior, Jesus Christ. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life” John 3:16
A memorial service is being planned for 2pm Sunday August 1st, 2010 at Waters of Life Chapel at Lutheran Hillside Village, 6901 N. Galena Road, Peoria IL. There will be no visitation. The family would ask that in lieu of flowers, memorials are directed to Lutheran Hillside Village Foundation in her name.
