Mary E. ((Kennedy) O’Leary, 57 years, of West Dennis formerly of Easton died Friday July 23, 2010 at her home after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of Michael S. O’Leary for 36 years. Born in Boston and raised in Milton, she was a daughter of Lillian (Murray) Kennedy of Milton and the late James Kennedy. Soon after her graduation from Milton High School in 1970 she began her 36 year career with the New England Telephone Company. She retired as a Senior Director of Human Resources at Verizon in Boston. While working she earned her bachelors degree from Lesley College. Mary had lived in Easton for over 20 years and three years ago retired to her summer home in West Dennis. She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and the beach. She will be remembered as a hardworking and generous woman.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is also survived by a daughter Erin Bowman and her husband John of Charlotte, NC; her siblings Susan Kennedy of Tacoma Park, MD; James of Norwell, MA; Stephen of Northfield, MN; Bruce and Debbie both of Milton; Joan of Falmouth and Karen Kennedy of San Francisco, CA and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday 4-8pm. A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held at the Funeral Home Wednesday July 28, at 11:30am. Cremation to follow.
