Devon M. (DeChristopher) Atwood age 41, of Taunton formerly of Brockton died Wednesday July 21, 2010 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington after a lengthy illness. She was the devoted wife of William P. Atwood, Jr. and loving mother of Kevin W. and Steven P. Atwood of Taunton.
Devon was born and raised in Brockton a daughter of Richard J. DeChristopher of West Yarmouth and the late Sheryl J. (Bolster)(DeChristopher) Morrison, For the past eleven years she had been a resident of Taunton. Devon attended Brockton Schools and worked at Crystal Cleaners in Brockton until 1996. She was a loving, outgoing and giving lady who treasured her time spent with family and friends. Devon loved to throw parties, cook and care for everyone. She also enjoyed shopping, dancing and music.
She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Terri-Lynne Bigness of Brockton; Richard J. DeChristopher of Brockton; Thomas C. Doxsee of Fitchburg; Susan L. Mullin of Taunton; Michael F. Jardin of Warwick, RI and Malinda A. DeChristpher of Taunton. She leaves many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and her step mother Beverly G. DeChristopher of West Yarmouth.
Visiting hours in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Monday 2-4 & 6-8 pm with a prayer service at 7:30 pm. Cremation will follow. Donations in Devon’s memory may be made to Make-a-Wish Foundation of Greater Boston, One Bulfinch Place, 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02114.
