Obituary

Mr. Luther Clayton Vaughn was born on October 31, 1948 to the loving parents, Quilla Pauline Dodson Vaughn and Luther Raymond Vaughn. He was preceded in death by his daddy Luther Raymond Vaughn and loving wife Linda Belle.He is survived by his mother, Pauline Vaughn of Westfield; two sons, Bobby Ray Vaughn and Meredith of Kernersville and Dwayne C. Vaughn and Melody of Randleman; two daughters, Jennifer Hutchens and husband Barry and Jessie Worrell and husband Thomas; four grandchildren, Nick and Emily Worrell, Landon Hutchens and Alexis Vaughn and Savannah Grace Vaughn who was on the way; three sisters, Inaze Lopez and husband Oscar of Kernersville, Judy Easter of Winston-Salem and Alice Faye Hawks and husband Weldon of Ararat, VA.Clayton worked side by side with his daddy Raymond in Vaughn’s Upholstery for many years. His daddy gave him a love and talent for furniture. He loved fishing, gardening and his animals. He was proud of his heritage and was a member of The Sons of the Confederacy.He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend and he will be missed.Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Cox-Needham Chapel at 4:00 P.M. with the Elder Rodney Marshall officiating with interment to follow at Volunteer Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Honor Guard of Mt. Airy Post 123.Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 24, 2010 from 7-9 PM at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Sons of Confederate Veterans, PO Box 59, Columbia, TN 38402-0059.Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain (www.coxneedham.com) is assisting the Vaughn family.
