Obituary

Edna (Briggs) Fisher, 92, of Dartmouth, MA died Thursday, July 22, 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Born in Dartmouth, daughter of the late Charles and Ady A. (Wood) Briggs, she had lived in Dartmouth for the past 40 years. A WWII veteran, she served her country as a nurse in the Army. Prior to retirement, she was a nurse for various hospitals in MA and NH and also worked for the Acushnet Company and the New Bedford Standard Times. Mrs. Fisher was a member of the Padanaram Congregational Church in South Dartmouth and was also an avid golfer.

Survivors include a son: George E. Fisher and his wife Lucille of Nashua, NH; a brother: Clifton C. Briggs of Westport, MA; 2 grandchildren: Stephanie Roy and Dale Fisher; 4 great grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

She was sister of the late Charles, Raymond, Christopher, Clarence and Sarah Briggs and Lena Gilchrest.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, July 26, 2010 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.

Calling hours Sunday 6 – 8 P.M.

Interment in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton.
