Obituary

Cecile (Durand) Fortier, 75, of Maplewood Drive, Mapleville, died Sunday at Oakland Grove Health Center surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Alfred Fortier. She was also the former wife of Roger J. Durand of Woonsocket.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Henri Leduc and Diana St. Pierre. She lived most of her life in Woonsocket and resided in Mapleville for over 20 years.
Mrs. Fortier worked for Chemart for several years and previously was employed by Narragansett Knitting and Finklestiens.
Cecile was an avid bingo player and had a special affinity for angels and enjoyed collecting all types of angel figurines.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Durand, and his wife Ginny, and James Durand, and his wife Muriel, and a daughter Diane A. Morris, and her husband Rodney, a stepdaughter Barbara Renault, all of Woonsocket. She was the sister of the late Raymond Bilodeau and Aldor Girard Jr. She is also survived by several stepchildren, 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10:00 am in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone. Visiting hours are Friday morning from 8:30 -9:30 am, prior to Mass, in the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket.
