Obituary

BRADFORD: Margaret M. (Mulato) Frothingham, 87, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 in the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill. She was the wife of the late Richard T. Frothingham, Sr. who died in November 2003.

Born in Budapest, Hungary on June 9, 1922, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Czanders) Mulato. Margaret came to the United States as a young girl and was raised in New York City and surrounding areas. Educated in the New York City public schools, she received her undergraduate degree in English Literature at Columbia University and her graduate degree in English Literature from New York University.

She had resided in Burlington, VT for many years, where she was known as GaGa to many children in the area. She moved to Bradford in 2000. Prior to living in Vermont, Margaret and her late husband, Richard experienced living in many different parts of the country, making many friends along the way. An avid reader, she enjoyed swimming and was a world traveler.

Best known as a great mom and grandmother, she is survived by her son, Richard T., II and his wife, Judith Frothingham of Bradford, a granddaughter, Kathryn E. Frothingham of Boston, a nephew, John Frothingham of Colorado Springs, CO and two nieces, Celeste Frothingham of Colorado Springs, CO and Patricia Long of Ballinger, TX.

Her funeral services will be privately held in the Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Haverhill Public Library, 99 Main St., Haverhill, MA 01830.
