Catherine "Teena" (Dorr) Reardon, 83, formerly of Julian Steele Senior Community in Haverhill, died Friday, May 15, 2009 in the Sutton Hill Nursing Center in North Andover. She was the wife of the late Richard J. Reardon who died in 1966.
Born in Haverhill on September 21, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Walter F. and Katherine D. (Madigan) Dorr. She was a lifelong resident of Haverhill and a graduate of St. James High School.
Teena was employed for several years at the Radiology Clinic in Worcester before her retirement in 1989. She had also once worked at the St. James Parish Rectory and the former Zayre's Department Store and the First National Store. She was a longtime communicant of St. James Parish.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Catherine R. and Loren Crandall of Hendersonville, TN, one son and two daughters-in-law, Michael J. and Diana (Vlack) Reardon of Lakeland, FL and Elaine (Kelley) Reardon of Coral Springs, FL, seven grandchildren, Bethany (Reardon) and her husband, Leon Sherlock, Michael and his wife, Tammy Reardon, Matthew and his wife, Leia Reardon, Stacey (Crandall) and her husband, Tyler Prentice, Jessica (Crandall) and her husband, Michael Isle, Justin Richard Reardon and Lindsey Marie Reardon, five great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Brianna and Brady Sherlock, Rylie Reardon and Benjamin Prentice, a sister, Mildred D. and her husband, David J. Cavan of West Boylston and among Teena's many devoted nieces and nephews from the Dorr and Reardon families are Kevin, Christopher, Alison, Cayley and Braden Dorr. She was also predeceased by her son, James J. Reardon, her great-granddaughter, Keara Sherlock and four brothers, the Rev. Kenneth "John" T. Dorr, OFM, Richard Dorr, Lawrence J. Dorr and Walter F. Dorr, Jr.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday in the St. James Parish, Winter Street, Haverhill at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Monday evening in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill from 5 - 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to one of Teena's favorite charities, The ALS Assoc. MA Chapter, 320 Norwood Park South, 2nd Floor, Norwood, MA 02062-4659. Interment will be held in the St. James Cemetery, Haverhill.
