Obituary

J. Albert Emond, age 85 of Haverhill, died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at his residence.

Mr. Emond was born in Amesbury on October 23, 1923, the son of the late Isadore and Elise (Raymond) Emond of Canada. He was raised and educated in Amesbury Parochial schools.

He is a Veteran of World War II, having enlisted in the United States Air Force and serving throughout the South Pacific. After returning to Amesbury at the end of the War he began working in local factories. He was employed with Craig Systems of Lawrence and Amesbury for many years as a machinist until his retirement in the late 1980s.

Mr. Emond has been a resident of Haverhill following his retirement for over twenty years. He was a member of All Saints Parish, Haverhill. Mr. Emond enjoyed spending time with his extended family members throughout the area.

He is survived by a very large extended family and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 6, in the C. Frank Linnehan and Son Haverhill Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill, at 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue (Rte. 97), Haverhill, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill Road (Rtes 110 at 150), Amesbury.

Visiting hours will precede the Funeral Saturday, December 6, in the C. Frank Linnehan and Son Haverhill Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill, from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends kindly invited.

Contributions in Mr. Emond's memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
