Ennis, Leonard J. "Lenny", age 65, of Salisbury, died Friday, January 18, at Country Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Newburyport.
Mr. Ennis was born in Haverhill on August 25, 1942, the son of the late Frederick J. and Blanche H. (Thibodeau) Ennis. He was educated in Haverhill and Boston schools and was a 1959 graduate of Haverhill High School.
He was a Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, serving as a Private in the U.S. Army for three years from 1959-1962, and two years in the active reserve. He was employed with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Works as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 2005 at the Rowley office. Lenny was an avid sports fan and a Boston Red Sox advocate. He had resided in Salisbury for many years and previously resided in Plum Island.
He is survived by his twin brother Lawrence J. Ennis and his wife Charlotte Ennis of Haverhill; his brother Arthur Ennis of Haverhill; his sister Collene E. Patnaude of Mountain Home, AK; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Frederick G. Ennis, who died April 29, 1994 and Diana M. (Ennis) Haga, who died January 27, 2006. Funeral Services were held in the C. Frank Linnehan and Son Haverhill Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill. Interment was in the U.S. Veterans National Cemtery, Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Massachusetts.
