Flood, James J. Jr., age 55, of Haverhill, died Sunday, January 27, at his residence.
Mr. Flood was born in Lawrence, on July 28, 1952, the son of the late James J. and Marie (Benoit) Flood. He was educated in Lawrence schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, serving four years the United States Coast Guard from 1970-74. After his military service he attended and was graduated from Northern Essex Community College, Haverhill. For the past six years he had been an Administrator with Community Action, Haverhill. Previously he had been an Administrator at Bradford College, Haverhill. Mr. Flood had been a resident of Haverhill for the past 26 years and previously resided in Lawrence.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen A. (Rafftery) Flood of Haverhill; his two sons, Matthew E. Flood and Colin P. Flood, both of Haverhill; and his three step sons, Christian M. Stearns of Haverhill, Nickolas F. Stearns of Cape Canaveral, FL, and Michael J. Stearns of Lowell.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday evening, January 31, at 8:00 p.m in the C. Frank Linnehan & Son Haverhill Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill. Calling Hours Thursday 4:00-8:00 p.m., prior to the Service. Interment will be Friday morning in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
