Attarian, Jeannette L. (Perrone), age 100, of Haverhill, died Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Baker-Katz Nursing Home, Haverhill.
Mrs. Attarian was born in Lynn, on February 11, 1908, the daughter of the late John B. and Olivia (Bonin) Perrone. She was educated in Haverhill schools, and was a 1925 graduate of Haverhill High School and a 1927 graduate of the former Fitchburg Normal School, Fitchburg. She had been a resident of Haverhill for most of her life, and previously residing in Amesbury and Florida.
She had been employed as a Haverhill Public School teacher from 1927-48, serving at the Rocks Village School, Lowell Avenue School, and 18 years at Tilton School. She then returned to teaching in 1955 in the Amesbury School System, including Whittier, Bartlett, Amesbury, Amesbury Middle, and Cashman Elementary Schools. She retired in 1977.
Formerly a resident of Stevens-Bennett Home, Haverhill, where she was reunited with former colleagues from Haverhill; she was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Mrs. Attarian was a member of Sacred Hearts Parish, Bradford; former member of St. Joseph's Parish, Haverhill and St. Joseph's Parish, Amesbury. She was the wife of the late James J. Attarian, who died April 20, 1984.
She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn E. Tomlinson and her husband James E. of No. Las Vegas, NV; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was the sister of the late Hector Perrone, Winifred Perrone, and Richard Perrone.
The Funeral will be held Thursday, April 24, at 9:30 a.m. in the C. Frank Linnehan and Son Bradford Funeral Home, 52 Salem Street, Bradford, followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel of Sacred Hearts Church, 165 So. Main Street, Bradfrod, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hilldale Avenue, Haverhill.
