Alvin Wynn, 82, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Arbor Baptist Church with Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Wynn was born May 19, 1928 in Baxley, Georgia to the late John Robert “Bob” and Ethel Miles Wynn. He lived in Fitzgerald the past sixty years. Mr. Wynn was a Master Electrician and retired owner/operator of Wynn Electric. He was affiliated with Arbor Baptist Church and was a member of Satilla Baptist Church in Baxley. Mr. Wynn was a member of the Fitzgerald Civic Corporation. His hobbies were fishing, hunting and gardening.
He is survived by his wife: Edwina Wiley Wynn of Fitzgerald; sons & daughter-in-law: Ed Wynn and Eddie & Marcia Benford, all of Fitzgerald; daughters & sons-in-law: Carole & Larry Linker of Woodbine, Janice & Lyle Usry of Lithonia, Linda & Pete Horne of Perry and Kay Pridgen of Fitzgerald; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; sisters & brothers-in-law: Bonnie & Don Watson of Mobile, AL and Jean & Corbet Collins of Lawrence, KS as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
