Manuel Sousa Ferreira, age 89 of Fall River, passed away July 18, 2010. Widower of Mary (Medeiros) Ferreira. Born in Capelas, Sao Miguel, Azores, the son of the late Jose Sousa Ferreira and Maria dos Anjos (Almeida) Sousa Ferreira. He was a member of St. Michael Church & a member and shareholder of the Alphonse Costa Republican Club since 1961. Prior to retiring, he was a Polisher at Lightolier for 5 yrs. & previously he was a Welder at Tower Works in Seekonk.
He is survived by sister in laws: Natalia Ferreira of Fall River & Isabel Ferreira of Pawcatuck, CT, and many nieces & nephews. He was brother of the late Isabel Sousa Medeiros, Joao Sousa Ferreira, Jose Almeida Ferreira, Maria Sousa, Maria Conceicao Torres, and Inez Almeida Ferreira.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 No. Main St. on WEDNESDAY at 8:00 A.M. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours TUESDAY 4-8 P.M.
