Frances (Janazian) Elloian, 83 of 8 Chilmark Street, Worcester died Thursday, November 13, 2003, in Saint Francis Home, Worcester. Her husband of 50 years Arthur Elloian died in 1997. She leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur C. and Kathleen Elloian of Charlton; 2 daughters and sons- in-law, Janice G. and Ralph Choate of Flower Mound, Texas and Beverly A. and Daniel Lawrence of Reading, Mass.; a sister, Anna Janazian of Worcester; 5 grandchildren--Jamie Choate, Jeffery and Kimberly Elloian, and Meredith and Marissa Lawrence-- and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Betty B. Janazian.
Mrs. Elloian was born aboard the French Liner "La France" in route from France to Ellis Island to John and Altoon (Kupelian) Janazian. She has resided in Worcester since 1948. Mrs. Elloian was a graduate of Watertown High School. She was a member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, Past Chairman of the Woman’s Guild of the Church and its Senior Ladies Auxiliary and the Board of Directors of the Armenian Woman’s Welfare Association. She was one of the founders of the AVAKS and was a member of the Church’s former Bingo Committee. She was Chairperson of several committes for church functions over the years. She was known as a goodhearted person always willing to help others.
Funeral Services will be held Monday 11:00 am in the ARMENIAN CHURCH OF OUR SAVIOUR, 87 Salisbury Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Sunday 4-7 pm at NORDGREN MEMORIAL CHAPEL 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester Dhangark Service will be held during the Calling Hours. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to The Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury Street, Worcester.
