BEVERLY: Lillian M. (LaCroix) Newbold, 90, died Thursday, July 15, 2010 in the Blueberry Hill Healthcare following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Richard Newbold who died in August 1985.
Born in Fall River on May 6, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Angelina (Vadeboncoeur) LaCroix. She had resided in Beverly for many years before moving to Bourne in 1978 and returning to Beverly in 1985.
Lillian was employed as a bookkeeper for the Better Homes Club Plan in Cambridge for over twenty-five years. She had also once worked in the cafeteria at Masconomet Regional High School in Topsfield for several years.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane M. Cormier of Cheshire and Jeanne D. and her husband, Paul R. Goodwin of Beverly, three grandchildren, Michelle J. and her husband, Todd Kenney of Essex, Jeffrey R. and his wife, Laurie Goodwin of Reading and Todd E. Cormier of Agawam, six great-grandchildren, Matthew, William and Samuel Kenney and Alyson, Ryan and Ava Goodwin, two sisters, Rita Peterson of Wilmington and Evelyn Sanphy of Canton and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Edward P. Cormier and four brothers, Leo, Arthur, Charles and Leo LaCroix.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Kerr Memorial Scholarship Fund, 12 Millbrook Rd., Beverly, MA 01915 or to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Ste.
