WORCESTER-Virginia M. (Stenmark) White, 87, of Worcester, died Friday, July 16th in Shrewsbury Nursing Home, Shrewsbury. Her husband of 63 years, John J. White, Sr. died in 2005. She leaves a son, John J. White, Jr. and his wife Paula of Hampton, NH; two daughters, Virginia E. Garry of Worcester and Jeri Taronas and her husband Mark of Paxton; eight grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Gillis and Marion (Wood) Stenmark and graduated from the former High School of Commerce. Mrs. White was a purchasing agent at Worcester City Hall for 10 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and enjoyed sewing, painting, and crafts.
The funeral is Tuesday, July 20th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Monday, July 19th, from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
