DUDLEY – Dorothy L. (Davis) Vallee, 88, formerly of Joshua Place, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010 in the Life Care Center of Auburn surrounded by her family. Her husband of 51 years, Henry I. Vallee, died in 1993.
She leaves 3 daughters, Jean L. Clark and her husband Walter E. of Dudley, Susanne M. Fitzgibbons and her husband John F. White of Webster, and Linda A. Kijek and her husband Chester L., Jr. of Harrisville, RI; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald E. Vallee in 1993, and by her twin sister, Ethel Marrier in 1969.
She was born in Webster and raised in Oxford, a daughter of Ernest and Alice (Crossman) Davis. She then lived in Webster for many years before moving to Dudley about 10 years ago.
Mrs. Vallee worked at B & W Footwear Company in Webster for 23 years. She was also a homemaker.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Webster. She loved knitting and crocheting, making afghans and playing bingo. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joy.
The funeral will be held Saturday, July 17, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St. Webster. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, July 16, in the funeral home.
