Mrs. Mary Player Overby, 56, of 904 N. Lee St., Rockingham, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 in her home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:oo PM on Saturday, July 17, in the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Hudson and Rev. David Parrish officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
Born in New Hanover County on July 27, 1953 to the late Archie and Rachael Chandler Player, she spent most of her life in Richmond County. She was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church and worked at Richmond Yarns for 22 Years before becoming disabled.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Overby; a son, Robbie L. Watson of Rockingham; two daughters, Tiffany Overby Davis of Rockingham and Brandy Overby of Ellerbe; a brother, LaVern Player of Taylortown; three sisters, Peggy Leonard of Lexington, Sue Blanton of Concord, Phyllis Scarboro of Hamlet; and 3 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7-9:00 PM at Russell-Marks Funeral Home.
