Obituary

Helen A. Klymko, 89, passed away, Monday, July 12, 2010 at her home. Helen was born in Chicago, IL, April 13, 1921 to the late Stephen and Anastasia (Wojtkow) Tremba and graduated from the Detroit, MI public school system.
Mrs. Klymko lived most her life in Mt. Clemens, Harrison Township, MI and was a member of the Port Huron Red Hat Society, the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Huron Point Yacht Club. Helen worked for many years as a caregiver for the Sisters of Charity at St. Joseph’s Hospital, assisting the retired nuns with their needs. From reading to translation, she was always at the ready to assist the nuns. She enjoyed traveling to Ireland, Hawaii and Alaska. She was known for her great cooking skills and people loved it when she shared her Ukrainian recipes. She also enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. Above all of her hobbies and past clubs, Mrs. Klymko enjoyed the time she spent with her family. Those are the memories that she treasured the most and held closest to her heart.
She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas Klymko in 1986. She leaves her loving children, Darlene Burnham and her husband Donald of Derry, NH and Dennis Klymko and his wife Kay of Port Huron, MI. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Brian Burnham and his wife Alicia of Silver Spring, MD and Lori Klymko of Port Huron, MI, along with her great granddaughter, Shea Darlene Burnham.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd. Londonderry, from 5-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday at 10am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry, NH. The burial will be held at a later date at the Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, MI. Donations in her memory may be made the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.
