Marlys A. Aiken (Woychik) age 73 of Canton passed away on Sunday July 11th at the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton. Born in Jamestown, North Dakaota, Marlys was a graduate of Saint Alexis School of Nursing in Bismark, North Dakotaclass of 1958. She was also a Graduate and Valedictorian of her class at Curry College where she earned a degree in Ethnomusicolgy in 1980. She served as the Choir Director and organist at St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton for 27 years. She was also past president of Our Lady of Fatima Hospital Woman’s Guild in North Providence, R.I. She is survived by her husband of 47 years Dr. James Aiken. Mother of Peter J. of Seattle, James P. & his wife Maura F. of N.H. & Matthew F. & his wife Mary A. of VA. Grandmother of Kate & Brad of N.H. & Hannah, Charles & Jamison of VA. Sister of Marilyn Berger & her husband Robert of ND. Sister in law of John P. Aiken of Medford. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Tuesday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Wednesday morning at 10:30. Interment private.
