Obituary

Frank B. Anderson, age 87, of Brockton died Friday July 9, 2010 at the Southeast Rehabilitation Center in Easton. He was the loving husband of the late Marion C. (Lagerstedt) Anderson. Frank was born and raised in Brockton a son of the late Erik B. and Ruth F. (Seaberg) Anderson.

Frank left high school to enlist in the US Army and proudly served our country during WW II; He saw extensive action in New Zealand, Australia, India, the Persian Gulf, the Middle East and the European Theater including the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded several Distinguished Service medals. Frank was a proud American with a strong sense of patriotism who remained faithful to his flag and country. Following his tour of duty he returned and went on to graduate Brockton High School.

After his education he joined his father in the Erik B. Anderson and Son Construction Company which later became the Frank B. Anderson Building Contractor in Brockton. During his career along with his Dad he built many custom homes throughout Brockton and the surrounding areas. He was known as being a man of his word, with a quiet demeanor and dry sense of humor. He has been retired for several years enjoying his family, neighbors, cats, and his beloved Red Sox and Patriots. In addition he was a veracious reader who enjoyed history and keeping up on current events. He had a passion for flying; he owned his own airplane and was a member of the Brockton Flying Club. He also enjoyed building model boats as well as other woodworking projects and spending his summers at Duxbury Beach.

He is survived by his devoted daughter Kathleen G. Anderson of Duxbury Beach and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John Anderson, Ruth Bump, Florence Carlsen and F. Anderson.

Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 9 am, followed by a funeral mass in Christ the King Parish at 10 am. Burial in Union Cemetery, Brockton. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 pm. In memory of Frank memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army 281 N Main Street Brockton, MA 02301.
