Maureen "Moe" Quinney, 56, of Methuen passed away after a lengthy period of illness on July 8, 2010 at Caritas Holy Family Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.
Maureen lived in Methuen for most of her life. Born July 27, 1953 to Robert A. and J. Corinne (Pelletier) Clarke of Methuen. She graduated from Tenney Memorial High School in 1972.
Maureen was employed throughout her life, having fond memories of her years at Converse Rubber in Andover and then Digital Corporation of Salem, NH. She was most recently employed with the Department of Revenue's Child Support Enforcement Division in the Metro Region Office in Boston.
Maureen was known for her love of animals, volunteering at the MSPCA during the times of her illness when she was strong enough. She will be remembered for her love of all things Harley Davidson but more so for her adoration of Bruce Springsteen and his music. Those close to Moe knew that her hearts desire was to return to live at Salisbury Beach as she loved the ocean.
Maureen leaves behind her son Thomas M. Dowd of Methuen, her Mother with whom she lived, brother Carl and sister-in-law Sheila Clarke of Salem, NH, sister Joanne Clarke of Methuen, two nephews and their families of Salem, NH. Moe also leaves her dear sister-in-law Carol Dulong and nephew Anthony whom she adored, of Haverhill, MA, as well as several cousins and many friends that Moe called her extended family. She leaves her beloved cat, Dorcse, who was a great source of comfort throughout her illness. Maureen was predeceased by her father.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 13, 2010 from 4 to 7 pm at the Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name can be made to MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, Ma.01844.
