William L. Judge, 80

William L. Judge, 80, of Norton passed away in the presence of his loving family on Friday July 9, 2010 at home. He was the beloved husband of Martha B. (Ouillette) Judge, to whom he was wed to on Januray 25, 1987.
Born in Somerville, MA on November 18, 1929 he was a son of the late Lester and Blanche (Morrison) Judge.
Bill grew up in Somerville, was educated in Somerville public schools and was a graduate of Somerville High School. During the Korean War he proudly served his country in the United States Army prior to being honorably discharged.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Judge was a truck driver for the Teamsters Union Local 25 in Boston. His places of work included driving for the former Ames Department Stores and the former Zayre’s Department Stores both in Mansfield and for Armour Trucking in Boston. He had previously been employed as an insurance broker for the John Hancock Life Insurance Co. in Boston.
Bill was a member of the Filmore-Nason VFW Post 8049 and the Lieutenant Harold A. Healy American Legion Post 222, both in Norton. He had made his home in Norton for the past 25 years and was formerly of Abington.
Bill will always be remembered for his gift of conversation. He and his wife were avid travelers and he enjoyed spending wonderful times with his family, especially with the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his beloved wife of over 23 years he is survived by his devoted children Nancy M. Lucas and her husband Jeffrey of West Bath, Maine, Karen A. Giampaolo and her husband Michael of Abington, William D. Judge and his wife Tina of Abington, Patrick J. Judge of Bridgewater, Michelle J. Judge of Bath, Maine, Paul M. Naughton and his wife Jennifer of Prescott, Arizona, Colleen M. Norton and her husband Kevin of Brockton, Ann-Marie Casey of West Bridgewater and Edward V. Naughton and his wife Melissa of North Attleboro. He was the brother of Dorothy Lord of Dedham and twins Eleanor Wright and Elene Larsen both of Revere. The former husband of the late Loretta Judge he is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday July 15th from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield. Private burial will be at a later date in the Cedar Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton.
In lieu of flowers Bill’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to Old Colony Hospice One Credit Union Way Randolph, MA 02368.
