Cpl. Paul Fagundes of the United States Marine Corp, age 29 passed away on July 4, 2010. As a true Marine, Cpl. Fagundes gave his life in an attempt to save two fellow Marines who were in danger of drowning at the Guantamo Bay Naval Base, Cuba. Paul was the husband of Cynthia Marie (Amaral) Fagundes and son of Jorge and Rosemary (Furtado) Fagundes. Born in Fall River, he was a graduate of Case High School and a graduate of BCC.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son: Cazzian Paul Fagundes and an expected daughter Anya Paulynn Fagundes and a sister: Belinda Fagundes of Fall River.
His funeral with full military honors will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. Tuesday at 8:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anne’s Church, S. Main St. at 10 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours MONDAY 4-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, all donations will be accepted for the Guardian Relief Fund in memory of Paul Fagundes for Marines of Camp Allen in Norfolk, VA.
