Obituary

Kelly, Norma G. (Garcia) of Squantum died on July 9, 2010 two days before her 90th birthday. The beloved wife of the late Michael F. Kelly. Devoted mother of Kathleen and her husband Joseph Minukas of Squantum, Michael J. Kelly and his wife Patricia of Langhorne, PA, Marie Valenti and her husband Edward of Quincy and Terry and her husband Alan Thomas of Marshfield. Daughter of the late Dr. James Garcia and Ethel B. (Manley) Garcia. Sister of Fern DeLouche of Cape Cod , Norma is predeceased by 3 brothers and 1 sister. Cherished Mamma of Stacie, Tara, Michael, James, Stephen, Michael, Meghan and Kevin. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.

Norma attended Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing upon graduation she enlisted in the United States Army during W.W.II where she met her husband Michael. They married in 1947 and raised their family in Squantum. Norma worked as a registered nurse at Mass General Hospital for many years before retiring back in 1982. She enjoyed reading, knitting and painting but her true love was her family. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grand mother who cherished her family. She will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to have known her.


Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday, July 12, from 4 - 8pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 8:15AM on Tuesday, July 13, prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, North Quincy at 9 AM.

Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
