Ira L. Jarboe, 81, beloved husband of Nora Jarboe, passed away Friday, July 9, 2010. Born in Campbellsville, KY, he was the son of the late Robert and Virgie Jarboe. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Ira was a member of Ormsby Heights Baptist Church for over 47 years and volunteered at Shively Area Ministries and the Family Life Center at Ormsby Heights Baptist Church. He retired from Commonwealth Insurance after 25 years. Ira is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, the former Nora S. Campbell; sons, Dalton R. Jarboe and Dwayne L. Jarboe (Cindy); grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua and Grace Jarboe; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jenna and Kate Jarboe; and sisters, Ruby Wise and Bernice Farmer. His funeral service will be 11 am Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West. Visitation will be 1-8 pm Sunday.
