Edward J. Yergeau, 77, of Manchester died January 24, 2002 at Catholic Medical Center after a sudden illness.
Born in Manchester on December 28, 1924, he was the son of George and Clementine (Deshaies) Yergeau. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
During World War II he served in the Merchant Marines.
Mr. Yergeau worked as carpenter for many years. He was self employed and had also worked for several area building contractors.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4961 in Hooksett and had served as that council’s financial secretary for many years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 79 in Manchester and the Ed Duval Dart League.
The family includes his wife of 55 years, Germaine (Boisvert) Yergeau of Manchester; a son, Donald J. Yergeau of Manchester; a daughter, Paulette Bolton of Danielson, CT; six grandchildren; two brothers, Rosaire Yergeau and Andrew Yergeau both of Manchester; a sister, Doris Giardina of Lantana, FL; many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were January 27, 2002 in Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated January 28, 2002 in St. George Church, corner of Pine and Orange streets. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
