Rose Johnson, 80, of Peoria passed away at 11:57am Monday July 5, 2010 at the emergency room at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born on May 23, 1930 the daughter of Abraham and Sylvia Yablansky Rothband. She married Richard Young on May 16, 1953 in Peoria. He passed away on June 16, 1995 in Peoria. She later married Steven Johnson March 4, 1996 in Peoria.
Surviving is her husband of Peoria. Also surviving are two daughters Martha “Marty” (Jim) Bunting of Brimfield and Deborah (Randy) Westlake of Peoria. She is further survived by 5 grandchildren 2 step grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.
She worked for Hearst Publications in Brooklyn NY prior to her moving to Peoria. After moving to Peoria she was a homemaker and was known for her cooking of many ethnic foods.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service is scheduled for 10am Tuesday July 13, 2010 at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Don Blasing officiating. Visitation will be one-hour prior to her services. Burial of her cremated remains will follow her service at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in her name to the American Cancer Society.
