Kenneth “Ken” A. Iller, 78, of Hampstead, NH died Monday, July 5, 2010 in the Derry Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Derry, NH. Mr. Iller was born February 6, 1932 in Chicago, IL, son of the late Alvar K. and Elva C. (Abrahamson) Iller. He was raised on a farm in Bennington, NH. Ken then lived in Malden and Melrose, MA. He graduated from Malden High School and then from Bentley College, Waltham, MA, with a degree in accounting. He enjoyed spending his summers at Angle Pond in Sandown, NH. Ken worked as an accountant for Tucker Anthony on State St. in Boston and then for Seaboard Flour, LLC. in Chestnut Hill, MA. Being a highly organized person who was great with numbers, he also prepared taxes. He had been an active member in the Fidelity Lodge A.F.&A.M. in Melrose. Ken also had served as an elder and treasurer for the 1st Presbyterian Church in Haverhill, MA. He enjoyed bluegrass, jazz and Dixieland jazz music and going to music festivals. He was also a baseball fan and had coached his sons when they were young. Ken was a NASCAR fan, he loved birds, enjoyed the outdoors and spending time in nature.
He is survived by two sons, Kenneth C. Iller and his wife Cheryl of Raymond, NH, Keith Iller and his girlfriend Brenda Torres and her daughter, Marissa Major, all of Londonderry, NH, his former daughter in law and caregiver, Gail Iller of Sandown, four grandchildren, Craig, Cody, Kristin and Erika Iller, his brother, Donald P. Iller of Bloomfield Hills, MI and by two nieces, Karen Zuhlke of Lavonia, MI and Donna Mancuso of Lake Bluff, IL.
Visiting hours were held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 from 9-11am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. The funeral service followed at 11:00am Saturday in funeral home.
