Richard H. Merrill, 73, of Londonderry, NH, died Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at his home. Mr. Merrill was born in Manchester, NH on December 3, 1929, a son of the late Harry and Mildred (Backman) Merrill. He was a resident of Londonderry for 18 years, formerly living in Derry most of his life. Mr. Merrill was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy, Derry, Class of 1948. He served with the US Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Merrill was employed as a Truck Driver for Buckley Egg Express in Derry and was the owner and operator of Hillside Poultry Farm in Derry.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley M. (Abbott) Merrill of Londonderry, two daughters, Donna M. Tracy of Deerfield, Debbie M. Porter of Manchester, four sons, James N. Merrill of New Mexico, Michael H. Merrill of Oregon, Richard P. Merrill of Derry, Jeffrey A. Merrill of Deerfield, 10 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, his sister, Barbara Evans of Center Barnstead, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17th at 10:00am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Burial will follow in the Pleaseant View Cemetery, Londonderry. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 - 5pm in the funeral home.
