Evelyn (Tarves) Ward Amaral of Provincetown died June 28, 2010 at Cape Cod Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Provincetown she was the wife of the late Ronald E. Amaral who died in 2008. A lifelong resident of Provincetown she attended local schools and was a devout member of St. Peter the Apostle Parish. In 2000 she retired from the maintenance department of the Cape Cod National Seashore after 30 years of service. Prior to marrying Mr. Amaral she was married to Joseph A. Ward who died in 1969.
She is survived by her 3 sons, Joseph Ward and his wife Debbie of Florida, Christopher Ward of Centerville, and John Ward and his wife Judy of Truro, her 4 daughters, Evelyn Costa of Provincetown, Susanne Cook and her husband Christopher of Mattapoisett, Eileen Grosso and her husband Peter of Provincetown and Dorothy Morris and her husband Paul of No. Truro, her 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Carol who died in 2006 and the late Marianne who died in 2008. She is also survived by her sisters Mary Bolla of Provincetown and Gladys Silva of Florida. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Peter the Apostle Church 11 Prince St. Provincetown on Friday July 9, 2010 at 10:00am. Visiting hours are omitted.
